The ISO Public Protection Classification for the New Melle Fire Protection District is Class 5/9. Most insurers use this classification for underwriting and calculating premiums for residential, commercial, and industrial properties.
The fire district was reevaluated by ISO in 2004, and due to improvements in the department, including the addition of full-time staff at Station #1 and improvements in the water system, the rating was lowered to what we have today. If you have had the same insurance since 2004, it is recommended you check with your insurance company to make sure the more favorable updated rating is being used by them to assess your premiums.
