In the evening of March 30th, New Melle Firefighters responded to a report of a building fire on Highway T. The building was unoccupied and had heavy fire inside when the first truck arrived. Firefighters attacked and extinguished the fire. New Melle was assisted with additional tankers from Augusta Fire District since the building was in an area without water mains. Wentzville Fire District assisted by moving in to cover one of our fire stations. (We apologize for the blurry pictures, we were having problems with our camera).
