New Melle FPD wishes to provide a friendly reminder for those of you considering any open burning this fall.  In advance of any burning between 9/15 and 4/14, burn permits may be applied for by downloading the form from this site, and stopping by our Station House 1 at 3705 Mill Street in New Melle.  No open burning is to occur from 4/15 through 9/14.

In operating with your burn permit, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources’ guidelines for burning are as follows:

1. Do not burn if winds are in excess of 5 m.p.h.
2. 4’ pile maximum burning area at any one time
3. All burning to be closely and continuously attended at all times, else fully extinguished
4. All burning is to take place between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

Please comply with the above regulations in order to effect safe open burning.
